Dr. Prakash P. Kotwal, with over 39 years of experience, held various positions before assuming the role of Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics. Hand and Upper Extremity, Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement, Traumatology, and Paediatric Orthopaedics are Dr. Kotwal's areas of expertise.

He received additional training in traumatology and hand surgery in the United States and Germany. Additionally, he has experience treating neglected injuries as well as difficult fractures and dislocations of the upper extremities (from the shoulder to the tips of the fingers).

He has regularly replaced all of the joints in the wrist, shoulder, elbow, and tiny joints of the hand. He has developed expertise in reconstructive hand surgery, including the treatment of tendon and nerve injuries, rheumatoid hand disease, and congenital deformities and abnormalities.
