Dr. S Karunakaran is an efficient Spine Surgeon/ Orthopedic Surgeon with an extensive experience of more than 25 years.

His educational qualifications include an MBBS from Rajah Muthiah Dental College Hospital, Annamalai University, Delhi, an MS in Orthopaedics from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, and a DNB from the Medical Council of India.

His area of expertise lies in treating Spine Injury, Spinal Fusion, Spinal Cord Injury Treatment, Spinal Disorders, Spinal Disc Surgery, Spinal Therapy, Neck and Spine Biopsy, Back Pain Treatment, and Neck Pain Treatment.

He was the first in South India to employ INSPACE, an Interspinous Implant for Lumbar Canal Stenosis utilizing Keyhole Spine Surgery and Local Anesthesia.

Dr Karunakaran is a respected Indian Medical Association, Tamil Nadu Orthopedic Association,  Orthopaedic Association of South Indian States, Association of Spine Surgeons of India, and Asian Academy of Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery.

He was awarded the Mohandas Weller Gold Medal & Fellowship Award by the Indo German Orthopaedic Foundation, India.
