About Doctor

Dr. Ajay Kumar Kriplani is a household name in India thanks to his expertise in laparoscopic and gastrointestinal procedures. Over his 40 years in the field, he pioneered laparoscopic surgery in India and helped take it to the next level.

To do a kidney transplant from a living donor, he performed the first laparoscopic adrenalectomy, splenectomy, and nephrectomy in India. Among the many prestigious awards and recognitions bestowed upon him are the illustrious Dr. S.R. Joglekar Award and the Dr. N. Sethuraman Oration.

Hundreds of laparoscopic surgeons from India and neighboring countries, including Nepal, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, have been trained by him. Dr. Kriplani is a medical doctor who studied at Ravi Shankar University in Raipur, Madhya Pradesh, receiving his MBBS and MS degrees. Dr. Kriplani is in high demand as a lecturer and live surgery demonstrator at national and international conferences.

Professional Experience

From October 1985 until March 1987, he worked as a Lecturer in Surgery at J.L.N. Medical College in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
From April 1987 until June 1991, he worked as an assistant professor of surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
From July 1991 until July 1992, he worked as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
Between July 1992 to May 1996, he worked as an Additional Professor of Surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
From May 1996 to September 2014, he worked as a senior consultant at New Delhi's Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.
He worked as a senior consultant at New Delhi's Sitaram Bhartia International Centre for Science and Research.
