Dr. Ashok Rajgopal, a highly esteemed orthopedic surgeon in India, is widely recognized for his exceptional expertise and reputation. With a remarkable career spanning over 45 years, he has made significant contributions to the field of orthopedics.

 He holds the record for the most Total Knee Replacement procedures performed, which is 25,000.

The President of India has appointed Dr. Rajgopal as an honorary surgeon.

After completing his MBBS degree at the AFMC and his MS degree at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, he received his MCh degree from the University of Liverpool in 1983.

In 2010, Dr. Ashok earned his Fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in General Surgery from the United Kingdom Royal College of Surgeons.

Additionally, he is the first orthopedic surgeon in India to conduct bilateral total knee replacement surgery and minimally invasive single-compartment surgery (MIS).

Dr. Rajgopal also pioneered complete knee replacement surgery, performing the procedure using Patient Specific Instrumentation.

He has an impressive record of having completed 28 knee replacement procedures in less than 12 hours.

He is a member of the design team that was responsible for the design and development of the most recent knee implant, which is called The Persona Knee. He is also a designer surgeon.

Dr. Ashok has been honored with the illustrious Padma Shri Award, the country's fourth-highest civilian honor.
