Dr Binu Ninan is a senior pediatrician and Neonatologist with more than 30 years of experience.
He has developed modern newborn care and helped start the Department of Neonatology at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRMC). Under his leadership, this department became the first in India to receive Level 3 Accreditation from the National Neonatology Forum (NNF).
He also helped build one of the country’s leading Fellowship programs in Neonatology.
Dr Ninan was involved in setting up a 65-bed children’s hospital at VHS in Chennai, a charitable hospital that serves many families.
He has worked in India, Australia, the UK, and the Maldives, and is known for his kind nature, clear communication, and strong commitment to the health of newborns and children.
He helped establish the Karthikeyan Child Development Centre and the Perinatal Centre at SRMC. These centres are now important referral points for high-risk pregnancies and children with developmental challenges.
Dr Ninan has worked to improve newborn care in both urban and rural areas. In partnership with the Emmanuel Hospital Association, he helped develop Neonatal Units in rural parts of India so that specialised care could reach remote communities.
He also set up the first tertiary-level Neonatal services at Tree Top Hospital in the Maldives, helping to raise the standard of care in the region.
As Director of Neubon Healthcare, he continues to guide hospitals in setting up and improving Neonatology and Paediatric services in multi-speciality centres.
Additionally, he has been deeply involved in creating Fellowship programs and standardising Neonatal Care protocols, which have greatly supported Perinatal Health and Child Development services in India.
Dr Ninan is an active member of several medical societies and committees and has written more than 20 scientific publications, and is often invited to speak at national and international conferences.
His career reflects his lifelong dedication to newborns, children, and their families, and he is widely respected as a trusted leader in Neonatology and Pediatrics. Also, through this work, he ensures that children receive proper support and care from birth onwards.
