Dr. Katiyar earned his MBBS from GSVM Medical College in 1989. He returned to that same university to earn his Master of Science in General Surgery in 1992. In 1996, he earned his Master of Surgery from Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in Bangalore, widely regarded as among the top cancer hospitals in India.

Dr. Dinesh Chandra Katiyar has more than 25 years of experience in oncology and is well regarded as an international authority in the subject. Cancers of the head and neck, breast, lungs, hepatobiliary system, soft tissue, and gynecology are all within his scope of expertise, as is the reconstruction of these diseases.

Along with the Association of Surgical Oncology, the Indian Society of Oncology, and the Delhi Medical Association, he is an active member of all three. Having graduated from Kanpur University, Dr. Katiyar has strong ties to that institution.
