Her educational background encompasses an MBBS from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, and an MS in General Surgery from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.

Her area of expertise lies in treating Breast Cancer, Treatment Cone Biopsy, Breast Malignancies, Thyroid Malignancies, Gynecological Malignancies, GI Malignancies, and D2 Gastrectomy.

She is an active member of the Association of Surgeons of India.

She is the first lady officer to be awarded the Gallantry Sena Medal during her short stint of 5 years in the Indian Army.
