Dr. N.P. Gupta is a well-known Urologist and Andrologist in Delhi NCR. He became Chairman of the Academics and Research Division of the Urology department In the year 2010.

After completing his urology residency, he joined the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in 1979 as a member of the teaching staff. Since then, he has worked his way up to the positions of Professor and Head of Department (1998-2010).

Dr. Gupta had a successful career in the area of urology that spanned 45 years, and throughout that time, he made significant contributions to the expansion of the urological sciences on both the national and international levels.

He has been involved in more than 30,000 surgical procedures to treat a wide range of urological conditions. In 2006, he was a pioneer and a recognized surgeon who began performing robotic surgery in the field of urology at AIIMS. As of now, he has conducted the most number of robotic operations in India in the field of urology than any other surgeon.

He served as President of the Urological Society of India in 2007 and of the Urological Society of Asia from 2008 to 2010, in addition to being a National Delegate and Board Member of the Societe Internationale D' Urologie (2004-06).

He is the recipient of several National and International Awards, including the Padamshree from the Government of India in 2007, the Dr. B. C. Roy National Award from the Medical Council of India, and many more (2005).
