Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma is a renowned Nephrologist & Kidney Transplant Surgeon, with an impressive 32 years of experience in this field. He worked at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow as both the Director and the Head of the Department of Nephrology. In addition, he was the Director of the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia institution. Both the State Authorizing Committee (HOTA) for Organ Transplantation in Uttar Pradesh and the Board of Governors of the Government Post Graduate Institute of Health Sciences in Greater Noida included him as a member at one point in time.

Dr. Sharma also served as the Co-Chairman of the Expert Group on Kidney Diseases for the Government of India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Since 2016, he has also served as an expert member of the Committee SEC (Cardiovascular and Renal) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India.

More than 353 of Dr. Sharma's research articles have been published in reputable national and international academic publications. He has contributed to over 25 books by writing chapters for those publications. Both the Indian Journal of Nephrology and the Indian Journal of Transplantation both have him listed as an Emeritus Editor. In addition, he was the Chief Editor of Clinical Queries Nephrology for several years.
