About Doctor

Dr. S Ayappan is a senior consultant surgical oncologist with over 25 years of experience.

He was among the first surgeons in India to perform advanced cancer surgeries using keyhole surgery, such as laparoscopic radical hysterectomy in 2003, and laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection in 2004 as well.

He has many years of experience in treating complex cancers of the uterus, cervix, ovaries, and the colon and rectum.

Dr. Ayappan is a founding member of both the Chennai City Surgical Oncologists Society and the Tamil Nadu Association of Surgical Oncologists.

He also plays a crucial academic role as the coordinator of the surgical oncology department.

Dr. S Ayyapan mentors and trains postgraduate students in cancer surgery, and he has successfully published several research papers in respected medical journals in India and abroad.
