Dr. Sanjiv Saigal is a qualified hepatologist who, for more than a decade, has served as the leader of the medical team performing liver transplantation for the biggest liver transplant program in India.
a total of 1500 liver transplants, including those from deceased as well as living donors, were successfully carried out.
About 25 liver transplants should be performed each month, and the success rate should be more than 90 percent.
A specialist in liver transplantation (also known as transplant hepatology), acute liver failure; viral hepatitis; alcoholic liver disease; drug-induced liver disease; and liver cancer.
Over 130 papers and talks have been published and given at various national and international conferences.
Presented with a number of honors, such as the INLAKS Fellowship in liver transplantation at King's College Hospital in London, the National Pfizer award, and the Calcutta University Gold Medal, amongst others.
In addition to being a member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, I am also a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) (MAMS)
