Dr. Suman Lata has more than 15 years of experience as a nephrologist and has received training nationally and internationally. She received her DM in nephrology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. She also received an ISN fellowship from a prestigious transplant hospital in London. She founded the Nephrology and Renal Transplantation Division at the Government of Delhi's Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences. As a result, the renal unit gained a reputation as a regional hub of cutting-edge, patient-centered Nephrology care. Many studies involving kidney issues caused by hepatitis were conducted with her participation.

She also played a key role in establishing the Institute's DNB Nephrology training program. In 2017, she began working at Fortis Flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi as  Director of Nephrology & Renal Transplant. In addition, she helped launch the Nephrology and kidney transplantation programs at both hospitals. At Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality hospital, she enrolled in the DNB Nephrology program. She has participated in or served as chairperson/speaker at more than fifty national and international conferences, seminars, CMEs, and symposiums. She frequently gives talks to audiences and coordinates community education initiatives.
