Dr. Uma Mallaiah is well-known in her field and has more than 21 years of professional expertise, she has helped many patients throughout that time. Through her participation in a variety of research initiatives, she has made significant advancements in the medical profession.

She has successfully performed 3,500 cataract procedures and 500 glaucoma surgeries throughout her career.

In the Northern Region of the United Kingdom, she was recognized as having given the finest research presentation.

In her fourth year of medical school, she was given a distinction for her work.

Her areas of expertise include Lasik surgery, phacoemulsification surgery (MICS), refractive surgery, and evisceration with orbital implant procedures. In addition to that, she is skilled in traumatic lid repair and trabeculectomy using SICS. In addition to this, she is very knowledgeable in the areas of glaucoma, entropion, ectropion, DCR, and DCT.

She is actively engaged in both corporate and international marketing, and she has arranged camps at the American consulate, Hero Honda, and the Indian Oil Corporation.

She was instrumental in the establishment of Apollo Hospitals' Eye Department in Dubai, which was a collaborative venture between the two hospitals.

Her undergraduate degree in medicine and surgery came from Bangalore University in 1994, and her postgraduate training in ophthalmology was completed at Christian Medical College in 1997. She went on to complete her FRCS(UK), and she later became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).
