Dr. Vivek Jawali is a highly regarded cardiothoracic surgeon with over 40 years of experience.

He was the first to successfully perform beating heart surgery and minimally invasive heart bypass surgery in India. 

He has performed more than 18,000 heart surgeries, including cardiothoracic, vascular, and minimally invasive cardiac surgeries.

Dr. Jawali specializes in various cardiothoracic procedures such as off-pump total arterial revascularization, aortic root replacement, and intracardiac repair of tricuspid atresia with total cavopulmonary connection (TCPC).

In 2004, he performed the world’s first awake open-heart surgery, combining an aortic valve replacement with triple bypass, with the patient fully awake and without a ventilator, even when the heart was stopped.

Dr. Jawali has revealed advanced techniques in bypass surgery at live surgical workshops both in India and internationally, attracting cardiac surgeons and anesthetists from around the world to learn from him.

He regularly trains cardiac surgeons from China in the specialized technique of off-pump bypass surgery.
